Adding an Exchange Account

BlueMail is fully compatible with both Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) and Exchange Web Services (EWS) protocols.

For those whose providers support Exchange ActiveSync, we strongly suggest adding your account using this protocol for an optimized experience, particularly for Calendar and Contacts synchronization.

Adding an Exchange Account via ActiveSync:

  1. Go to Settings | Account Settings | Add Account | Add Other Account | Exchange.
  2. Input your Email Address - Use the format Username@Domain.com.
  3. Input your Password - This is the same one used for accessing your Exchange account on your desktop.
  4. Ensure the "Prefer ActiveSync" option is checked to add as ActiveSync. Uncheck to add as EWS.
  5. Tap Next and allow a few moments for your account to be configured.

Checking Your Current Protocol: To verify the protocol of an existing account, navigate to Settings | Account Settings | Choose Account | Edit Account | Protocol.

Switching from EWS to EAS: If your account is set up with EWS and you wish to switch to EAS (and your provider supports it), remove the existing setup by following these steps:

  1. Tap Settings | Account Settings | Choose the account to remove | Edit Account | Remove Account.
  2. Re-add your account as EAS by following the steps outlined above.
