How to add GMX accounts

To add a GMX email account to BlueMail, make sure IMAP or POP3 access is enabled in your GMX account settings. By default, GMX disables POP3/IMAP sync, so you need to activate it before setting up your account in any third-party application, including our app.

Steps to Enable IMAP/POP3 on GMX:

  1. Log in to your GMX account using a web browser.
  2. Go to Settings: Click on the "Email" tab, then select "Settings."
  3. Enable POP3/IMAP: Click on "POP3 & IMAP" in the settings menu. Check the box that says "Enable access to this account via POP3 and IMAP."
  4. Save your settings: Click "Save" to activate the changes.

To check if there are any ongoing issues with the GMX server, you can visit the Down Detector page. This will help you determine if GMX is experiencing server-related problems that might be affecting your ability to add or access your GMX email account.

If not used for a prolonged period, GMX may automatically disable POP3/IMAP. Once enabled, you can try adding your GMX email account to BlueMail again. For detailed instructions from GMX, you can also visit their official support page: GMX Activation.

If you're still unable to add your account, you may need to set up an application-specific password.
