Backup in BlueMail

Desktop

Backing up and restoring emails in BlueMail is a simple yet essential process for transferring emails between accounts or recovering previously backed-up emails. This feature is available exclusively on desktop versions: BlueMail for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Restoring Emails

You can import emails into your accounts by navigating to Settings | Account Settings | selecting the relevant account | Advanced | Import Mailbox and choosing the file you wish to import. Currently, only .mbox files are supported.

For advanced users, if you have a .pst file, you can convert it to .mbox using this script.

Backing Up Your Emails

  1. Open BlueMail and select the email account you want to back up by clicking its name in the top bar.
  2. Choose folders for export by expanding the folder tree and selecting the desired folders.
  3. Right-click on the selected folder and choose "Export Folder" from the drop-down menu.
  4. Save the backup file after the export completes, either on your desktop or an external storage device. Be sure to name the file appropriately and store it securely.

Please note: To export emails, BlueMail+ is required.
