BlueMail offers a user-friendly and efficient search function that helps you quickly find specific emails using keywords. Whether you're searching for recent or older emails, this guide will walk you through how to initiate a search and interact with your results.
Initiating a Search on Mobile Devices
On Mobile Devices:
- Accessing the Search Bar:
- Swipe down the email list or tap the Magnifying Glass icon located in the top bar.

Initiating a Search on Desktop Devices
On Desktop Devices:
- Accessing the Search Bar:
- The search bar is located directly above the email list and below the Account Selector (picker).
- Simply click the search bar and type in the keywords related to the emails you're looking for.

How the Search Works
- Scope: Your search will be limited to the current folder you are viewing. It covers emails stored on your device as well as server-side emails (often referred to as "old" emails).
- Fields Searched: The search function scans for your keywords within:
- Email subjects
- Email body content
- Recipient details
This ensures a thorough search across all relevant parts of your emails, making it easy to locate specific messages.
Handling Search Results
Once your search results appear:
- Viewing Emails: Tap or click any email in the results list to open and read it.
- Multi-Edit Actions: For bulk email actions, long press (on mobile) or use the multi-select feature (on desktop) on any search result. This will activate the multi-edit mode, allowing you to select multiple emails for actions like delete, move, or mark as read. Learn more in our Multi-Edit Guide.
BlueMail's search functionality is designed to provide a seamless and powerful way to locate your important emails quickly and efficiently.
