IMAP/POP3 Security Protocol Error
If you see this error when trying to add your IMAP/POP3 account to BlueMail, it usually means that BlueMail and the mail server aren’t using compatible security protocols. Here’s what you can do:
1. Check Your Security Settings (SSL/TLS)
- Try switching between SSL, TLS, or STARTTLS under the incoming (IMAP/POP3) and outgoing (SMTP) server settings.
- Make sure you’re using the correct ports:
- IMAP: 993 (SSL/TLS) or 143 (STARTTLS)
- POP3: 995 (SSL/TLS) or 110 (STARTTLS)
- SMTP: 465 (SSL/TLS) or 587 (STARTTLS)
2. Check Your Email Provider’s Security Policies
Some providers have disabled older encryption protocols (like SSLv3 or older versions of TLS). Make sure your email service supports modern encryption (TLS 1.2 or 1.3).
