How to Configure an Account for Only Incoming Mail?

To set up your account to receive only incoming emails, follow these steps:

  1. Begin configuring your account by tapping More (⋮) | Accounts | Add Account | Add Other Account | Other Email.
  2. Uncheck Automatic for manual configuration and select Next.
  3. Choose your account type: IMAP, Exchange, or POP3.
  4. Enter your incoming mail configuration as usual and select Next.
  5. For the SMTP (outgoing mail) settings, input “something” – preferably settings from one of your other accounts (Avoid using your own mail server for SMTP).
  6. Uncheck Require sign-in and select Next.
