How Do I Enable an App-Specific Password for My iCloud Account

Apple requires iCloud users (with email addresses like @icloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com) to generate an app-specific password to sign into their accounts on BlueMail.

Generating an App-Specific Password

To create an app-specific password, Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) must first be enabled on your iCloud account. Here are the steps to enable 2FA and generate the password:

  1. Visit My Apple ID.
  2. Select Manage your Apple ID and sign in.
  3. Choose Password and Security.
  4. Under Two-Step Verification, select Get Started and follow the onscreen instructions.

After enabling 2FA, generate your app-specific password:

  1. On the Apple ID page, select Password and Security.
  2. Click Generate an App-Specific Password. (A new password will be generated.)
  3. Open BlueMail, tap Settings | Accounts. Select the account you wish to update, tap Edit Account | Update Password, and enter the newly generated password.
