Spam emails vary widely, from unsolicited newsletters to fantastical claims from distant relatives. While your email provider uses advanced software to filter out spam, some unwanted emails might still reach your inbox.
Does BlueMail Support Spam Management?
BlueMail enhances your email experience with a robust Spam Management tool. It supplements your provider's spam filter by allowing you to Block emails that slip through. Once blocked, these emails are added to your Block List and will be sent directly to the Spam folder in future.
Note: The Block List in BlueMail is personal and only affects your experience within the app.
How to Block a Sender?
There are two methods to block a sender:
- Directly from an Email: Open the email and tap the 3-dot menu, then select Block Sender.
- Using Swipe Menu: Configure a shortcut to "Block Sender" in BlueMail's Swipe Menu.
Upon blocking, choose to block either:
- The Sender – Emails from this specific address will move to Spam.
- The Domain – All emails from this domain will be filtered to Spam.
Example:
- Sender: "Spammer@spammer.spam.com"
- Domain: "@spammer.spam.com"
Note: Only the email you block is moved to Spam immediately. Future emails from the sender or domain will be automatically filtered.
How to Unblock a Sender?
To unblock a sender:
- Go to the Spam folder.
- Open the blocked email.
- Tap the 3-dot menu and select Unblock Sender.
- Confirm with OK.
Remember: Emails identified as spam by your provider may not display the Red Spam Indicator and are handled automatically. The Red Spam Indicator is specific to emails blocked via BlueMail's Spam Manager.
Removing Senders or Domains from the Block List
To remove an address or domain from your Block List:
- Tap Settings | Accounts | select the account | Block List.
- Select either Address or Domain.
- Tap the red X to remove and continue receiving emails from that sender or domain.
