BlueMail supports POP3 providers as well as IMAP providers. Generally, we recommend setting up accounts as IMAP when your provider supports it.
With a POP3 account in BlueMail, you have the flexibility to manage email deletion:
- Leave emails on the server: By default, BlueMail allows you to keep emails on the server for POP3 accounts.
- Delete emails under various circumstances: You can configure settings to delete emails from the server when they are removed from the Trash folder or when they are downloaded.
To adjust these settings, please tap Settings | Account Settings | Select your account | Delete Messages on Server:
- Never – Keeps emails on the server (default setting).
- When deleting from trash – Deletes emails from the server when they are removed from the Trash folder.
- When downloading messages – Automatically deletes emails from the server upon receipt.
For POP3 accounts, folders are not synced with your server. BlueMail creates a local folder for you, if it does not already exist. You can perform mail actions normally (e.g., moving emails to Spam/Archive/Trash). Folders are added to your Folders List when you mark emails as Spam, Archive, or Delete for the first time.
